Where can I go for help?

"It takes a village to raise a child."

This well-known saying highlights the importance of a strong support network in a child’s upbringing. Parents, teachers, neighbours, and extended family all play a vital role in a child's well-being.

At Ladysmith, we understand the challenges that family life can bring, which is why we offer access to our Family Support Worker, Tyna Crow. Tyna is here to provide advice, guidance, and referrals to help families navigate difficulties that may be impacting daily life.

How Tyna Can Help

Tyna offers support with a wide range of family challenges, including:

✔ Finances
✔ Sleep difficulties
✔ Physical or mental health concerns
✔ Family conflict
✔ Loneliness and isolation
✔ Healthy eating and lifestyle
✔ Feeling unsafe

✔ Routines and boundaries

For additional support, please find attached a directory of useful websites and resources that families have found helpful.

Early Help Support

For families facing multiple challenges, Tyna can lead the Early Help process—a structured plan designed to provide ongoing support. This involves regular meetings with relevant services to create a clear action plan tailored to your family's needs.

ATTEND Process – Supporting School Attendance

If school attendance is a concern, Tyna can also lead the ATTEND process, working closely with families, school staff, and children to identify and overcome barriers to attendance.
